Gray Maxi Skirt

I'm a smidge sad that the Teacher Wardrobe Staple series (say that three times fast) came to an end yesterday, so I need to think about how I can revive it once a week/month. Or something like it. Maybe I'll do a Teacher Staples 30x30? That might just work.

I'm not wearing any shoes with this outfit because I felt like being a hippie for ten minutes. (Read: I was too lazy to put on my shoes before the pictures.)

The Look:
Jean Jacket: Old Navy (it's a bit bigger, so I chose to roll the sleeves for a different look.)
Maxi Skirt: American Eagle
Belt: I have NO idea! I think Target.
Shirt: Target

I wanted you to see my diva face...also known as "the wind is making me eat my hair" face.

The Details:

Occasion: My birthday dinner! (A relaxed one with family, not a date night)

When: 4-bed time

Where: My parents' house with just my closest family members

Restyling Options: Clearly, I would put on shoes.  I actually did restyle this before I walked out of the door by putting on a white cardigan (didn't want to wear a jean jacket in my parents' house, but it was too chilly for short sleeves) and an aqua belt. I wore white, strappy sandals.
I wore the wine-colored version of the skirt like this

How would you style this skirt?

Last day to enter Sam's Target card giveaway
I'm wearing items from Target in this outfit post, so it's meant to be.
Duh.

Aruba, Jamaica, Ooooo, I wanna take ya...

Are you singing the Beach Boys now? You're welcome.

Since this week marks my first week of "summer break," which is still comprised of curriculum writing and an AP summer institute, a few colleagues and I hung out at my co-teacher's pool. I needed to visit human resources after I left, so I brought a change of clothes. I decided that showing up to the Board of Education in flip flops, shorts, and a bikini was a tad unprofessional. I threw on this outfit that I might have to put on repeat because I feel swishy, islandy, and a teensy bit sultry while I wear it.

Everybody come see how good I look.

Fran, I posed right here at this moment because I know how much you love the lighting. Look at me thinking of my blogging buddies.

All I can really tell you about this look is that I bought the skirt at NY & Co. last summer.

Who wants to take me to an island now? I've got just the outfit for the occasion!

In case you needed to hear it...
I make no apologies for the earbug I just implanted.

Check out some lovely ladies over at Molly's for YOLO Mondays and Laura's for the floral trend.
Edit: I just so happened to wear Marionberry's trend of the month this week, and I didn't even realize it! Look at me being all trendy.

Tile Store

Good afternoon, folks.

I'm making this one a quick one because we're back to work on putting in new flooring in the kitchen and dining room. We've hit quite a few hiccups, so things are progressing slower than we anticipated. However, that's pretty normal with this family.
Anyway, we went to the tile store this morning to pick up more thinset and grout. I decided to look presentable for the first time in five days. You're welcome.

It's a converse kind of day.

And now for the full-body shots (not that kind of body shot, perverts.)

We need a new welcome mat.

Wish us luck on today's tiling adventure. (Actually, we have yet to tile. Like I said, lots of hiccups. More like a belch.)

Fun fact: right after Jeff took these pictures, I dropped my sunglasses and popped out one of the lenses. Luckily, the lenses pop in as easily as they pop out. Awesome.

Outfit Deets:

Striped shirt: Target
Jeans: American Eagle
Converse: DSW

Check ya later, home skillets!
