At least puppies are cute when they whine...

Teenagers, on the other hand, are most definitely not cute when they whine. I don't know about you other teachers, but all of these snow days and late starts are making my students whiny and lazy, a combination that makes me want to smack my face against the chalkboard.

Let's run down the typical cause and effect scenarios that occur on a much-too-regular basis in my classroom.

Cause: I rearrange the desks so that they're in rows.
Effect: "WHAT!? Are we taking a test!?"

Cause: I tell students to get out a sheet of notebook paper.
Effect: "WHAT!? Are we taking a test?!"

Cause: I schedule a test one week in advance. On the day of the test, I ask students to get out a #2 pencil.
Effect: "WHAT!? Are we taking a test!?"

Cause: I tell students we're taking a test.
Effect: "WHAT!? Are we taking a test?!"

Cause: "WHAT!? Are we taking a test!?"
Effect: I smack my face against the chalkboard.

With that, I bring you to the cute portion of our show today: my parents' new puppies. Well, you get to see one of them, but they look *pretty much* the same. Meet Sammy.

The Look:
Jeggings: American Eagle high-rise
Boots: Etienne Aigner via Macy's (old)
Vest: Under Armour (last year?) and scored it for $30 down from $120!
Sweater: Holy crap, it's from J.Crew, but I actually bought it for $7 on thredUP, hee hee.
Scarf: gift from a student :)
Later on, I realized I must have been subconsciously inspired by this pin. Is there such a thing as pinterest amnesia? If not, there should be.

This picture is the only full-length shot you get. We were more concerned with pictures of his cute face next to mine.

I want to go back and play with them again. Right this second.

(I had to show you his cute Mickey sweater!)

LOOK AT THAT FACE. I WANT TO COVER IT IN KISSES.

Yeah, he's standing on his gross, little pee pad, but he's so cute that I didn't think you would mind.

Some facts about the boys:

Names:
Sammy (featured here) and Rudy

Weight:
Sammy is 2.5 pounds in these pictures, but he has since gained a very tiny bit of weight.
Full grown, he and his brother are supposed to weigh no more than 7 pounds.

Breed:
Pure bred Yorkies (they're specifically called Parti Yorkies.)

Likes:
Rudy enjoys fighting with his brother and, more recently, pooping on top of his crate, a physical feat no one yet understands.
Sammy enjoys eating hair and curling up in the crook of Mom's neck.
They both love to snuggle and nap.

My fleece tights died, and don't forget about Trendy Tuesday.

I wore my fleece tights ONCE (a glorious day it was). After one round in the washer's gentle cycle, the crotch birthed a hole. (How do you like that imagery?) Boo to you, $6 fleece tights. I waffle between patching up the hole, conveniently located on a seam, and buying a brand new pair. Decisions decisions.

Anyway, these opaque tights from The Limited sufficed, but gracious me, I was not wearing enough layers on top to combat the arctic that my classroom has become. Polar Bear City, all aboard.
Also, rhetorical question: why is it that my legs can take a Jack Frost beating, but my upper body needs about fifteen layers to prevent the shiver me timbers?
Anyone else suffer from this problem? (not rhetorical)

Tomorrow's theme for Trendy Tuesday is red and white.

Don't forget to don your best red and white look. Post that beauty on Facebook, Instagram, your blog, or send a carrier pigeon with a polaroid. Mosey over to the sidebar and follow me on Instagram.
Octothorpe (real name for the hashtag-pound sign-number sign thing) that lovely look of yours with #trendytuesday.

If you're new around here, my co-teacher started this "let's pick a theme for getting dressed one day a week" trend. Another teacher and I settled on Tuesdays, which we alliteratively named Trendy Tuesday.  Every week, we come up with a theme and try to coax more teachers and students [and online friends!] to join us in our sartorial adventure. Safety in numbers and all that jazz.

The Outfit:
Sweater: AB Byer (so old...does anyone even know that brand anymore?)
Scarf: a new creation from Momma who finally agreed to let me sell her scarves! Who wants in?
Tights: The Limited
Skirt: LOFT (it's chiffon and pleated in case your eyes and my terrible photos deceive you.)
Boots: Etienne Aigner
Belt: Came with a dress

Hair: on its third day...that's what's up.

Mint Scarf

I wanted to pull together an outfit that would allow me to feature this gorgeous mint scarf that my sister-in-law (hate the in-law part...sounds too formal) gave to me for Christmas

I was inspired by this photo bouncing around on Pinterest.
Source: Happily Grey
(That's the actual source!)

It's much too cold outside to take pictures, and I really haven't been feeling well, so I'd prefer not to exacerbate my condition by posing with frigid Mother Nature. Plus, how fun is my stool that matches my scarf?

P.S. If I were outside, I'd throw on a black leather jacket to complete the look.
To my dear friend, Amy, if you're reading this, I know you don't like booties, but I hope you like mine :) (When I re-read that statement, it sounded dirty. It's not. I mean my footwear, not my behind.)

I felt badly that you couldn't see my lovely earrings and watch, so I took a quick picture with Photo Booth.

Outfit Deets:
Sweater: Preswick & Moore via Boscov's (exact for $26.99)
Pants: Boscov's (Target's brand is nice, too.)
Earrings: Mod Cloth
Watch: Timex (gift from Momma dukes)
Booties: BCBG (old, but here is a similar pair)
Scarf: Gift from my wonderful sis-in-law :)

I was curious, so I did some research.
I am still trying to determine the credibility of the website, but it's from the UK.
Everything from the UK is valid, right?
