Pinterest Tells Me I Look Pretty In...

Awhile ago, I learned from the interwebs that you can be all creepy and check out who pins images from your blog, which surely comes as no surprise to many of you bloggers. However, if you were otherwise in the dark, allow me to enlighten you. It's so simple.

Type the following into your web browser:

pinterest.com/source/URL OF YOUR BLOG GOES HERE

For example, to find pinned images from my blog, I would go to:
pinterest.com/source/littlebitofwowe.blogspot.com

I think it's not just creepy but also quite interesting to see which outfits get the most press.

Here are some of my best fall/winter outfits according to Pinterest:

(This one just so happens to be one of my best looks. Find the original post here.)

I never rewear outfits (except for pajamas), but I am making an exception with this look. I remember how comfortable and chic I felt in this outfit! Find the original post here.

Sadly, I had to retire this blazer because of my gorilla arms, and hugging myself no longer felt fun. It felt...constricting. Self hugs should always feel lovely.
Can someone please help me find a navy blazer replacement?
I've looked for so long. I'm growing weary because of this fruitless quest.
Find the original post here.

The wrinkles on these pants birth baby wrinkles. As such, they needed to go the way of the navy blazer. Either way, everyone loves the mustard pants inspiration. Who can blame them? Mustard pants, minus wrinkles, are hand-clapping awesome.
Feel free to check out the original post here.

Speaking of mustard, those pinners can't get enough of it.
I can't find this skirt. I think I donated it. Oops.
Find the original here

The last one makes me very happy because it features my favorite blazer: the cobalt blue beauty. (In case you're new around here, I have upwards of 40 blazers. A problem? Only for my husband who searches for closet space in vain.)
She's pretty. I know. (Not me, silly pants. The BLAZER.)
Find the original wonderment here.

Ultimately, I think my cognac Franco Sarto boots captivate people. Why wouldn't they? They're glorious, and, with the trouble this stupid toenail is giving me, they're the only footwear I can wear without discomfort. I'd also like to draw your attention to the fact that my hair is different in every single photograph.

Favorites? Wondering why on God's green earth people even pinned one/some/all of these images?

I love my brown boots.

Welcome to another shameless dressing room selfie. I'm not entirely sure what selfie isn't somehow linked to shame, but that's a story for another day. Before I got mah hur did tonight, I stopped into LOFT to return a dress.

I exchanged it for this skirt. I love it. I've been looking for a red skirt, and this one fits like a dream. Plus, it was on the clearance rack. Double win for me.

And why do I love my brown boots?
They go with all the things (in my closet)!

I walked into LOFT wearing the following outfit:
I'd like to call this my Robin Hood color scheme. Where are my bow and arrow?
(The pants are hunter green.)

The Outfit & Details:
Cardigan: Old Navy (need more colorrrrs)
Pants: Gap (by far my FAVORITE skinny jeans. I want more. and more. and more.)
Belt: Francesca's
Top: Old Navy
Boots: Franco Sarto (favorite shoe designer) via Marshall's
Necklace: Target

Comments: I really love the colors in this outfit, and people stopped me to throw down some comments at my beautiful booted feet. I originally planned to wear a black silk top with black boots, but I changed my mind this morning. (Yes, I pick out my clothes the night before.) Good change? I think so.

Thanks, wind.

It was a beautiful, warmer day today, but all good things come at a price. Today's price involved the wind. When Jeff picked me up from work and we walked outside, the wind whipped my skirt around, and I yelped, "BAH! Why is it that EVERY time I wear a skirt the wind blows it up!?!?" A mom of one of the kids I teach was sitting in her van...with the windows down. She laughed pretty hysterically. She heard me cry out and probably saw my lady business. Fantastic.

The inspiration for this outfit came from here.

One of my students, granted it was a student who wears athletic gear every day, claimed that this outfit didn't "match." The stylish girls around her disagreed, but now I wonder: is she right? Does this outfit not match? I argued that the colors complement each other, and I didn't want to wear all blue. I wasn't going for the blueberry look. Who's right: the fifteen-year-old or me?

We took 19 pictures; only one turned out, but I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this one in iPhoto. I hope it brings a smile to your face.

And look at this nonsense:
Good grief.
I need to wear lipstick. Or get a tan.

Outfit Deets:
Blazer: Marshall's (similar)
Skirt: Old Navy (old)--(similar #1, similar #2, similar #3)
Boots: Franco Sarto via Marshall's (cute ones)
Necklace: Charlotte Russe (exact for $12.99)

Oh, and just for kicks...would you like to see where my love of stripes originated?

Yep, that's me in the patriotic ensemble. Oh, and my big brother? He's the one rocking a mullet, purple turtleneck, and acid wash jeans. Gotta love the early 90s.

Mustard & Dots

I know that turtlenecks are no longer cool, but do you really think that's going to stop me? No, ma'am. Admittedly, I'm somewhat small. These little bird bones need warmth, and if it comes in the form of a turtleneck, then so be it. Judge me all you wish.

When do you think my mom will stop buying me clothes? I hope the answer to that question is "nevah!" (Yes, spelled just like that.) She always does such a good job finding me fun stuff to wear. Does anyone else (who's quickly approaching thirty) have a Momma who still buys her clothes? I'm not talking about Italian men like my husband because dudes don't factor into this equation. I'm not sure most men ever buy or pick out their own clothes. I'm talking about grown women who still rely on their Mommas for sartorial wisdom. If I'm shopping without Momma dukes, and I'm a little leery about something, I take a picture and text it to my mom. She's saved me from multiple cases of buyer's remorse. (I know that the simple solution to that problem is simply taking back the clothes, but ain't nobody got time for that!) Anyway, the moral of this story? A girl always needs her Momma.
Well, this girl does.

I hope you enjoy today's outfit.
I enjoyed wearing it.

I dub this pose the "why did I take off my sweater?" slouch.
It's classy. Try it out sometime.

Vest with the Fur

You see, I was almost out of the door and ready to take pretty snow pictures for you until my chesticles went concave just thinking about the frigidity that awaited me. I love you guys, but my love is not limitless.

One of my most special students told me that she liked my necklace. In a very serious tone, she said, "It's bling bling, right?"
I nearly died.

I may or may not have started singing "vest with the fur" to my first period students.

You know what my favorite days of the week are? I'll tell you: my favorite days of the week are those that involve not doing my hair because it looks the same in the morning as it did when I went to sleep.
Glor-eeee-ous.

I bought a dress at Target for $4 and a pair of shoes for $6. An outfit for $10?
Just call me Master of the Universe.

Factoid: My brother used to pin me down, force my arms into their opposite sleeves, and tell me to say, "Jeremy is Lord Master of the Universe" if I wanted him to release me.

Anyone say anything funny about your outfit today?
Catch any good deals lately? Do tell where you went and what you bought!

Outfit Deets:
Shirt: The Limited (striped shirt)

Jeans: Express (similar)

P.S. I really want to win this giveaway.

Chambray

"Trends" I Wish Would Die a Fiery Death:

1. Low pants: My mom claimed that this trend has died off, but my students are still wearing their pants too low. They've evolved from just showing boxers to wearing sometimes three layers under their pants, all of which peek out in varying degrees. Bottom layer = pants, next layer = athletic pants/sweatpants, next layer = athletic shorts, and final layer = underwear.
Die, low pants, die.
Oh, and girls who still let their thong straps peek out above their pants? STOP. Just stop.

2. If my friends ever referred to me as their "bitch," I would smack a bitch up. Why do ladies call each other their "bitches?" It's not cute. It's not endearing. It's not funny. It's dumb.  Why has this trend not died? Sure, I can rest easy that "I heart you" has waned, but this "my bitches" thing still rages on. I don't know if I can call this one a trend, but I needed to acknowledge it somehow.

3. High socks: Unless your socks are the bomb diggity because they're argyle print, striped, or something fun like polka dots, please do not wear them with your athletic shorts and Sperry shoes. If you wear them with sandals, someone needs to beat you with your footwear. You see, it started with my male students. They wore t-shirts and athletic shorts to school; they topped it all off with tall Nike socks and either Sperrys or sandals.  They said it was cool. I reminded them that it was sloppy. Then the girls started doing it! Ladies, ladies, ladies, expose your socks under two conditions: one, your socks are wicked cool; two, the rest of your outfit coordinates with your sweet socks.
Otherwise, I will be forced to follow you as I sing my self-made parody of "Shots."
(Instead of singing "shots," sing "socks.")

Are there any trends you wish would die?
It's okay if you say skinny pants, chambray, or colored pants.
I won't stop wearing mine, but I won't be offended either.

Chambray top: Rock and Republic via Kohl's--it's soooo soft, the perfect length, and has some fun on the collar. (can't find it online, but it was in the store--here is a similar one)
Pants: I wish I could remember (similar pair here)
Boots: Franco Sarto via Marshall's (cute from Target, love these, and these)
Necklace: Forever21 (exact for $6.80)

Looking a Little Fall-y

One of my lovely (and funny) colleagues, Meg, said this very thing to me today. I did not tell her at the time, but it made me laugh. I do think I actually laughed, so I guess I did tell her. Anyway, today's outfit was beyond comfortable, which can sometimes be a bad thing. I sort of wanted to take a nap all day long. Or maybe that was the chilly, overcast weather?

Also, as you can very clearly see, I opted for bangs once again. Bangs are my fall and winter tradition. Being that I have curly hair, bangs are not so wonderful in the summer when my hair frizzes up and out (and not in that cute, Ms. Frizzle way). I was out to lunch on this particular bang cut; I thought they looked a little funny. However, so many colleagues and students complimented me that I figured I was just being overly critical and self-conscious.

Edit: My husband was upset to find that I did not include what he said to me this morning. I was unsure about my bangs and my outfit, to which he responded, "You look hot. Can I be a student in your classroom today?" Ah, I love him :) (and, no, I'm not just saying that because he'll be reading this commentary.)

Don't worry. I was not actually driving when I took this picture. I snapped it in the school parking lot.

I'm still unsure about the color of my jeggings. I tried khaki, but that looked strange. I am thinking this color isn't wonderful either because I'm not sure these pants "go" with my boots. I should have worn my light khaki booties. Silly me.

Whatever. I was comfortable, and my top had POCKETS. How can an outfit ever go wrong when pockets are involved? (I do realize there are plenty of ways an outfit could, in fact, go wrong with pockets.)

In case you covet my duds, here's where I found all of it:

Top: Target (this one and I love this one I bought for my student aide)
Jeggings (or whatever they are): NY & Co. (these look comfortable)
Boots: Franco Sarto from Marshall's (some similar styles here)
Earrings: Old, so I have no idea. Probably Kohl's.

What is your favorite "I look cute, but this outfit is so comfortable I want to sleep" outfit?
By the way, please do not judge me for the number of striped items in my closet.
It's a sickness. A terrible, terrible sickness.
