Every Monday, I send an e-mail to all of the staff members announcing the following day's theme. My favorite part? Guys are participating! Students are participating! Guy students are participating! People are walking up to me and asking, "So, what's the next theme?" A colleague stopped me in the copy room today to say, "I have been participating every week, but I just can't get to the front office in time for the group picture. I love that I have one day of the week where I don't have to think as hard about what I'm going to wear." Note: I also taught a math teacher what the word sartorial means. Proud English teacher moment right there.
You guys, I love it. See, fashion isn't so silly or vain. It's helping to unify more people in my building. What can be wrong with that? On a somewhat related note, a lot of my colleagues (and even students) know about this here blog. I know many bloggers hide their blogs from people they know in real life, for good reasons, but not this girl. Before I really started my blog, people at work commented on my clothes frequently, so an English teacher who loves fashion writing a blog about what she wears? Not entirely surprising. I actually sat down with one of my juniors the other day to give her the basics of starting a blog, specifically a fashion blog, which was one of the highlights of my year! I hope one day to be introducing you to her on here.
This week, my co-teacher picked animal print. (Sidebar: My co-teacher started the "trend," but I've adopted the responsibility of getting out the word and nominating people to choose the theme.) I really need to get better about telling you all the themes in case you'd like to join us.
In fact, would anyone be interested in knowing the themes in advance (probably Friday of the previous week) and participating in a weekly link up? Let a girl know. Okay, not any girl. Preferably this girl.

1. Oh my gosh this blazer! 2. I love that Trendy Tuesday has become such a big thing at your school! A few years ago I had a class that wanted to wear a specific color one day a week and we did, but it never caught on like yours! 3. How awesome that you get to share your blogging experiences with others!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea and you are so lucky to work with and teach people that participate. I just work from home so I don't get to interact with others as much. I miss getting dressed for an office-type job. Love the red and leopard.

I think this is so fun! I really love this outfit too, I've had something similar in mind, now I need to try it for sure :)
ReplyDeleteYou are too adorable and too funny! This outfit is another winner. Nobody at my work knows about my blog. I would be mortified! Although, I work with a bunch of boring engineers so my outfits are sometimes a little too "out there" for them. I want to work where you do so I can join in on the fun :)
ReplyDeleteYour cheetah print scarf shakes up the Valetine's Day look- I like it! Also, I'm having a V-day giveaway on my blog Patti Cake! Come by & check 'er out! :)

I think it's so fun that you do Trendy Tuesday! I don't think my co-workers would be on board at all. One of my co-workers tried to start "formal friday" but no one wanted to dress up on Fridays. So then he tried "Flannel Friday", but I think it mostly hasn't worked. I don't have any flannel, so I can't really participate!
ReplyDeleteI think a Trendy Tuesday linkup would be fun! I'd try to join in as much as possible, if you decide to do it.
I looove themes and link-ups! Unfortunately I work mostly with men, so that wouldn't work, and I don't interact with more than three of them on a regular basis. So yeah. Blog link ups it is for this gal.
ReplyDeleteWow! The dress is really so nice. I would like to buy this dress for me. Thanks for sharing.

That is so great that you have a themed day at school! I can see how that would really help build school spirit and a sense of community. Love the color of your blazer!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually pretty jealous of your themed days at work. I guess we all have tie-dye Tuesday but it's not like we do that to be cute...
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is adorable on you! I keep looking for pair of booties to wear under my flared jeans because I think it looks so nice!
I love this blazer on you. It looks like such a cheery and bright colour, perfect to ward off the winter blues!
ReplyDeleteHaving themed days at work sounds like fun. I wish my work didn't have a uniform :(
That is so fun and such a great idea!!! Love your outfit you look gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with red and leopard! Such a pretty look! Thank you for joining the trend spin linkup! :)

I love your Trendy Tuesdays. What a cool school. Even cooler of you to share your blog with others and help them. Loving this Outfit head to toe. I would love to co-host a Trendy Tuesday link-up with another blogger. =)
ReplyDeleteGoodness gracious, I love this so much! I haven't worn my coral blazer in AGES and I'm thinking this outfit could be a great one to recreate with it! :)
