Crazy doctors and taking risks

These days, I straight up steal the pictures from Instagram and use them on the blog; however, I know quite a few people do not look to Instagram for photographic proof that I do, indeed, dress myself every morning. As a result, I feel confident in reusing those pictures here. Self-plagiarism at its finest, folks. (Yes, in case you were wondering, self-plagiarism is a thing. No, you cannot take an essay from two semesters ago, revise it, and use it for a different class this semester. You are, in fact, plagiarizing yourself. While your need for efficiency smiles at the idea, the academic community and your grade frown upon it.)

What is different about these pictures is that you see my face. Doesn't that make your trip here worth it? It should. Plus, I have to fit my witty, one-sided banter into a tiny forum on Instagram. I can go blog wild here in Blogland. Side note: I imagine Blogland to be much like TV Land. Which blogger would be Jeanie from I Dream of Jeanie? What about Lucy? And Mary Tyler Moore? Or crazy Jim Ignatowski from Taxi? (Fun fact: my pediatrician's name was John Ignatowski, and my older brother freaked out when my mom told him I would see Dr. Ignatowski. He said, "No! He can't be her doctor!" He thought she was sending me to crazy Jim Ignatowski from Taxi. In case you don't remember which character he was, Christopher Lloyd, the dude from Back to the Future, plays the character.)

The Look:
Cardigan: Target
Tank: Gap
Pants: Exact Stretch from The Limited
Flats: J.Crew Factory
Belt: The Limited
Scarf (a.k.a. Crumb Catcher): crocheted by my Momma

Also, my hair stylist and I have been chatting via Facebook because I sent her these pictures:
1  / 2 / 3

I might not be that brave yet, so I could go for one of these:
1 / 2 / 3

I even created a whole board full of styles: here

I tried to pick women who had hair color and texture similar to mine so that I wouldn't be way off base. I have no tolerance for long hair anymore. I need to simplify SOME aspect of my life, and my hair seems like a good place to start. Feel free to tell me which styles you like best!

  2. Okay, you already know how I feel about your hair...and I canNOT wait to see what you decide! You're going to look gorgeous no matter what :) And this outfit is killer. Obviously, I love the neutrals, but I'm also a huge fan of how those pants fit you, and the tank is so great! (Also, can we still be friends if I tell you I haven't seen "Taxi" before??)

  3. I once tried to do a shorter hair cut. No one told me how much work it takes to make your hair look like hair in your pins. (spoiler alert: it's a lot of work)... unless you go super short and then can just run some gel in it every day. Just wondering, do you consult with your husband for decisions like these? My face is too round to pull off a pixie cut, but I've thought about it once or twice and mine said "not allowed." haha .. I chopped off a few inches later and he didn't even notice. So take that for what it's worth.

    1. It's funny that your husband said it's not allowed. What's with guys and longer hair anyway? I'd love to have mine like 8 inches shorter just so it's easier to deal with but he loves it so long. Grr. Men haha

    2. My husband would probably veto a super short haircut, too. I mean, I would veto it first, so I don't know what he would say if I really wanted to do it. I bet he wouldn't actually mind that much.

  4. I've been wanting to try a pair of black ankle pants like yours. I know you rave about the Exact Stretch pants and almost bought them when they were half off. I should have darn it. Are they on the dressy side, similar to slacks, or more casual like a ponte material? I would want to wear them casually but don't want them to look like slacks. Trousers would be better I think. I even tried the ones from AE but didn't like the straight instead of skinny leg.

This outfit is fantastic. Plus I'm so glad to see your crumb catchers are back :) As for the hair, I think you'd look gorgeous with any of the shorter looks. The Britney Snow one is my favorite.

  5. I actually had someone come to talk to one of my classes about plagiarism, specifically self-plagiarism. Most of them didn't even know it was a thing :( Also, your face totally makes it worth it. Also, also, love the black scarf. I think I need a black scarf.

  6. I was noticing all of your pins last night and I think most of those styles would be really cute on you! I really wish I could pull off some kind of different hair cut, but mine tends to triple in width for every inch I cut off, so I have to be pretty careful. And I have yet to find a stylist that I trust, so I pretty much just cut my own hair most of the time.

  7. Ohhh, I think you should totally chop your hair! I have been loving my shorter 'do! It's just so much easier. I also think that you could totally pull-off one of those cute pixie cuts. I can't wait to see what you decide to do!

  8. Ahh I saw you pinning all those hairstyles and figured a change was on the horizon. I saw the new 'do on instagram and it looks fantastic! Also fantastic? This pretty neutrals outfit!
