The colors in this outfit make me so happy.
I do not always give you a run down of my day, but let's have at it.
At school, my juniors left me in awe because of the hard work and brilliance they put into their Huck Finn trial. (Seriously, moments like this remind me of why I do what I do.) My sophomores, on the other hand, left me feeling homicidal because half of them did not turn in the assignment that they had TWO full class periods and a weekend to complete. Oh, teenagers.
After school, I went to the ear, nose, and throat specialist who told me that I need sinus surgery. Quite honestly, I'm cool with having my sinuses roto rootered if it means leaving these headaches far, far behind. Sure, I am going to go through two more weeks of antibiotics (on top of the five that DIDN'T work) and steroids (also did not work), but headaches have plagued me for four months. I am ready to say buh bye to them. If that means surgery, I'm cool with it.
After the sinus dude told me my face hates me, I went to yoga again. GASP. This yoga does not involve a lot of breathy, creepy talking and downward dogging for ten minutes, so I like it. The focus is to realign the effed up parts of the body, and I've got a lot of parts that could use un-effing. Plus, the instructor has a sense of humor. At this point, I'm sure you know how much I appreciate a good sense of humor.
Currently, I am watching Bates Motel. This show is very Oedipus Rex-esque, which I just finished teaching, but I love it. All of those psychologically twisted shows appeal to me.
What's wrong with me?
Nothing this outfit can't fix.
The Look:
Cardigan: Express...so old (similar at LOFT)
Tee: Target (here it is in colors)
Belt: Came with a dress (I like this braided on at Asos for less than $15)
Skirt: Amazon (exact for less than $20--I'm considering another color.)
Flats: Audrey Brooke via DSW (on eBay)
Scarf: Francesca's (I seriously love that store. Pastel stripes at Amazon)
This is lovely. Such a whimsical and romantic skirt! And then it gets kind of bold and saucy with the cobalt cardigan...the most perfect of early spring outfits!
ReplyDeleteThat skirt looks so pretty on you. The soft color, the pleats, the light material. It'll be perfect for spring! I notice you have a few Express cardigans and when I asked a friend this weekend about a place to get quality cardigans to replace my cheap Tilly's ones, she recommended Express. It's great to see they hold up so well!
ReplyDeleteYou know what would look great with this skirt? Your yellow blazer. Just sayin'.
What a gorgeous skirt! And I can't believe how cheap it is! I'm tempted to buy one, but how to decide on a color??
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you need surgery, but yeah, I hope it means your headaches will go away! I tend to get a migraine every few months and I would do almost anything to guarantee never having another one ever again.
Totally in love with this look! Love the color combos!

This outfit is so pretty! I can't get enough of pastels, so I'm loving the colors of this outfit and they way they go together. Sorry to hear about your sinus issues-- I didn't realize chronic headaches were why you were going to the ENT doc so much. I have been having nose issues of my own, but I don't know where the TMI line is so I'll just leave it at that. I'm sure it doesn't make you feel any better, but it's something!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is sooo pretty!! I love all the colors! Some days my students are on fire and then some days they don't even know which way the letters go on a paper. Haha!! I love what I do though!
ReplyDeleteYou are looking like a Beautiful Spring Doll. I do have a Cardigan in this Color but it's in the States. I want to re-create this Outfit with one of my Pretty Pastel Scarves and a very similar Coral Maxi Skirt that I own. And I am wearing Pastels for you today. I mentioned it on the blog, too. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the headaches and surgery. I have been suffering with migraines since I was about 10 so I know all too well about headaches.
Yikes, surgery!? Well, I'm feeling hopeful that the surgery will work and fix your chronic headaches. That really sounds like it's been a miserable four months :( I do really like the colors of this outfit, as well - the pink/coral of your skirt is gorgeous, and I looove that scarf! I'm with you on Francesca's - SUCH a cute store!!
